03:59
|
|||
Said I'ma Cryin' at your door,
Said I'ma Cryin', cryin', cryin' at your door
and I'ma leaving every bit of it,
said I'ma leaving every bit of it,
lying.....all over the floor,
i said I'm cryin',
cryin' at your door.

True Story
04:58
|
|||
Awaking from an on-and-off slumber, riddled with lucid dreams,
life had been frustratingly still,i felt, i just may burst at my seams,
but then looking out the window, I saw the light was extraordinary,
a powerful energy, was beckoning me from this mortuary.
Methods of achieving inner peace, are alive in my mind
waiting on me for when i'm finally ready, for when it's time,
well, today i was a man on a mission, to whom the exact purpose of which was unknown,
I fought myself out the front door, forever leaving my cage of a home
Now down on the street, i put one foot in front of the other,
pondering everything from the perfect weather, to the moment, to my mother,
following nothing but my deepest intuition, excitement building up with every stride,
i was out among the whole wide world, feeling no need or urge to hide
With commitment, i continued on, the potential of the day reaching a deafening hum,
turning a corner i bumped into a familiar liquor-swigging bum,
we understood one another the very second our eyes met,
i was ready to seize what was mine with no second thoughts or regret
Seeing the horizon before me, i yearned to know how far it went,
i yearned for no more hassles, no more burdens, no more break-ups, and no more rent
suddenly rising from the ground, i discovered my ability to fly,
i took off in pure bliss, and i witnessed, the significance...
of gravity from the sky

Seasons(?)
05:32
|
|||
these last few days, well, the weather, has been just delightful, don't think i haven't noticed,
don't think it's gone, gone lost, lost on me, momma
growing up, growing up upstate, the seasons were still so unique, strong and steady in their definition,
and four, four quarters of a whole, in perfect harmony, but now instead of singing, they be screaming,
of a once significant identity now gone, but i want you to know, that i remember them, momma
i know with each passing day, of our presence on your earth, we make beauty's creation just that much more difficult on you,
i hope you know, we didn't realize, we didn't realize, momma

Reverberating Voices
06:47
|
|||
dancing, reverberating voices upwardly cascade, upon the city's tall 50 foot walls,
and they ventilate into the still world of rooftops and trees,
that sounds and that setting, a perfect pairing each bringing out just a little bit in the other,
airplanes ascend, taking away hundreds of people,
leaving us behind in our gloriousness
the traveling lights of the jets and the starts in the sky, sparkle, glisten and cry,
just like the teary eyes of actors in old-time movies
the cracked and the creaking, delicately breeze-brushed door,
plays bard to the boulavard just out and down on the city floor,
airplanes descend, bringing back hundreds of people, to join us in our gloriousness,
the traveling lights of the jets and the starts in the sky, sparkle, glisten and cry,
just like the teary eyes of actors in old-time movies,
and the rapid-fire lights of the muted television, flicker upon the darkened white walls,
and i wanna be here, here to hear, the distant hum of the vast city surrounding

Years
04:22
|
|||
well it's been 12 years gone, since i've been making my way around this town amongst people who ain't nothing like me, and that's the way that i like it be,
early on, there came a time, for finding work to feed and shelter me, and myself, and my meandering ways and days, they fell into days
and it went on.....
i hear there's this thing called a vacation, i still don't really understand what it is,
time keeps flying by, or disappearing all together, i must be having more fun than i realize
just the other night, i got a message sent from my hometown,
it was saying that you're finally missing me, my no.1 friend, til the end
til the end....
i'm cruising these drowsy city streets, as i'm sure you've heard, they never fall all the way to sleep,
they evoke, moments of fulfillment, a longing, and lessons,
just like people you love and cherished possessions

The Boys At The Factory
03:45
|
|||
those boys at the factory, they got their time,
the boys at the factory, they got their time,
blue collar, blues on the brain, good men
soiled hands, soiled minds, good men,
the boys at the factory in need of some love, in need of a smoke,
the boys at the factory, in need of some laughs, in need of some cash,
and you know they're talking shit, they're knowing bout some shit, and they're going through some shit,
speaking of sob stories, laden with a profound wisdom,
and rolling on through it all

Deep In The Night
05:00
|
|||
when no one's around, and sound, of people and cars, are few and far, between,
and the light on everything is faint, and one can have, some alone time,
with the more passive parts of the outside world,
making out their visible essences, in silhouette and shadow, softly communicating, with a mutual respect,
deep in the night,
there's more tenderness, connection, empathy for all and openness,
deep in the night,
there's more thoughtful thought, dissolving of walls, and soft, poetic drama,
deep in the night,
there's more loosening up, and ease to love, anthropomorphism of the inanimate, and streets, all to yourself,
deep in the night

hanging out, at the house, having lots, of great sex,
eating, talking, learning about each other, bodies intertwined, everything shining,
and we're all just looking to be in love, work is hard, days are long,
we're all just looking to be in love, it's the summit to reach, it's as good as it gets,
looking into another's eyes from inches away, there's a closeness that spans many a lifetime,
all of their movements you see in slow motion, you've won humanity's most coveted prize,
some get, high as a kit, from being in love, make sure you're got yourself a soft landing below,
you need a malleable heart for being in love, for if that love is true it's gonna shape it anew

A Prescription
04:41
|
|||
we're shaking, we're flinching, everybody's in need of a tailwind,
there's things coming, things going, appearing disappearing, reappearing, once again,
as shallow breaths blow out, and the same get sucked back in, you're beside yourself once again,
when george's heart stopped beating, he said there was nothing there, no angels, no nothing,
he said people let the heaven right here, pass them by, as dreams and fear, they occupy, so much of their minds,
he went on to add a heavy sigh, and he said....
stay in the shower, with your lover forever
these glowing windows were carry in our hands, offer you a private view, into the world of elsewhere,
oh baby, it's cool, but we're seen a few souls get lost, somewhere in there,
oh we've fashioned our world, for a different version of ourselves
anti-conformist conformist descend upon your beloved borough,
yet far away, from any subway, one can still find, a stray, eccentric soul,
but you need money to live in NY now, they're making it so, just...
stay in the shower with your lover forever
so what about a perfect world? i tell you, it's hard to see the light, when you're watching people puking, trying to keep the party going,
til they gotta cart you off the field, but rest assured, our collision with the sun, will be a ton of fun
